Airbus Operations GmbH

Thermoplastic Fuselage Demonstrator Clean Sky 2

Description of the company
Airbus pioneers sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world. The Company constantly innovates to provide efficient and technologically-advanced solutions in aerospace, defence, and connected  services. In commercial aircraft, Airbus offers modern and fuel-efficient airliners and associated services. Airbus is also a European leader in defence and security and one of the world's leading space  businesses. In helicopters, Airbus provides the most efficient civil and military rotorcraft solutions and services worldwide.

Initial situation
Clean Sky is an ambitious engagement between the European Commission and Europe's aeronautics industry and aims to  develop cleaner air transport technologies for earliest possible deployment. In this context Airbus is leading a project with many partners - the Multifunctional Fuselage Demonstrator (MFFD). With greater integration between fuselage, systems, cargo and cabin elements at an earlier design stage, this project will help to enable the future of European airliner production
to become faster, greener, and more competitive.

Problem / Aims of the project
The Multifunctional Fuselage Demonstrator Project has started and is now entering a preparation phase for the demonstrator  at the ZAL Center of Applied Aeronautical Research. A project team is needed to set up the right planning and prepare the  simulation/digital twin for a final demonstrator manufacturing. All Inputs are available.

Set-up a flow chart for a demonstrator structure in the ZAL using the example of the MFFD, temporal coordination of the  corresponding device structure (Vorrichtungsaufbau).
