BlueMat aims to develop nature-inspired, sustainable, and interactive material systems that unfold their unique functionality in water or aqueous environments, or that derive their properties directly from nature’s most powerful resource— water.
Through the targeted use of water, materials can reversibly change their characteristics — such as storing and generating energy, adjusting light transmission and color, or altering mechanical flexibility. The research will pave the way for innovative and environmentally friendly applications.
BlueMat's mission: If you can do it with water, do it with water.
