Manual Set Up
For the manual configuration of eduroam, you need the root certificate DFN-Verein Community Root CA 2022. If this is not yet installed on your device,
you must do so in advance. To do this, you need an existing internet connection. Use your home network or mobile data.
Start by following the instructions to install the Certifiicat and after that follow the instructions for your Windwos version.
1. Install Certificate
Please install DFN-Verein Community Root CA 2022, the rootcertificate:

To istall the certificate follow these steps:
- Press the Windows-Key and search for Control Penal and open.
- Select Network and Internet and then Networkoptions.
- Under tab Contents select Certificates.
- By clicking Import you will be forwarded to the certificate import assistance. Click Next.
- Search for DFN-Verein Community Root CA 2022, please select. Then confirm by clicking Next.
- Next choose the certificate storage by clicking Browse... ans then selecting Trusted Rootcertificate Authorities. Confirm by clicking OK.
- Click on Complete. You have now successfully installed the certificate.








2. Configre Eduroam Manually
After installing the certificate, you now have to configure the eduroam network. Follow the instruction for your Windows version.
2.1 Windows 10
- Open your Network and Internet Settings and delete any existing eduroam configurations by going to Manage Known Networks ans clicking Forget.
- Open your Network and Sharingcenter (Control Panel → Network and Internet → Network and Sharingcenter) and click on Set up a New Connection or Network.
- Choose Manually Connect to a Wireless Network and confirm with Continue.
- Add the following configurations:
- Networkname: eduroam
- Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise
- Click on Change Connection Setting .
- In the Security tab choose Microsoft: EAP-TTLS as the network authentification methode and click on Settings
- Fill in the TTLS-Configurations:
- Select Enable Identity Protection and enter eduroam@tuhh.de
- Connect to these servers: radius-wlan.rz.tuhh.de
- Trusted Root Certificate Authorities: DFN-Verein Community Root CA 2022
- Select Don't prompt user, if unable to authorize server
- Select a non-EAP for authentication: Unincripted Password (PAP)
- Finally connect to eduroam and log in eith your tuhh-account.

2.2 Windows 11
- Open your settings and choose Nework and Internet. Then click on WI-FI and Menage Known Networks.
- In case eduroam appears in the list of known networks, click on Forget to delete previous configurations.
- Select Add Network and enter eduroam as the network name. Click on Save without making any further configurations.
- click eduroam and choose Bearbeiten under Advanced WI-FI Propperties.
- In the tab Security enter following configurations:
- Security Type: WPA2-Enterprise
- Network Authentification Methode: Microsoft: EAP-TTLS
- Click on Settings and fill in the TTLS-Configurationse:
- Select Enable Identity Protection and enter eduroam@tuhh.de
- Connect to these servers: radius-wlan.rz.tuhh.de
- Trusted Root Certificate Authorities: DFN-Verein Community Root CA 2022
- Select Don't prompt user, if unable to authorize server
- Select a non-EAP for authentication: Unincripted Password (PAP)
- Confirm by clicking OK.
- Connect to eduroam and log in with your tuhh-account.












Questions/Support
Please make sure that your device has the latest patches installed, that you are not using more than one anti-virus program and that no "unblocker" is active.
(Unblocker are programs which can unlock content, that is blocked in one country, but not another.)
