Apple MacOS

For the VPN connection from a MacBook to the TUHH, the data center offers two options.
Please use only one!

The first option involves installing additional software, the Cisco AnyConnect Client. For video conferencing via VPN, please use this option.

The second option is to set up the VPN profile via the operating system. This possibility does not require any additional software. If you want to use a VPN connection for a video conference, please use the first option.

1. Cisco AnyConnect Client

Short version

The Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client is available for all Mac OS X versions 11 and higher. Download it here and start it afterwards. To connect please enter the TUHH VPN server name manually:
The AnyConnect is an additional software licensed by the company Ciso.
However, if videoconferencing systems are to be used within a VPN session (which we do not recommend), it may make sense to use the Cisco AnyConnect Client for macOS instead of the built-in VPN Client.

2. Profile for the VPN client of the operating system

Short version

The native VPN client can be used on system version OS X 10.8 and newer. To do so, install the VPN profile:
  • OS X 10.8 and newer: TUHH VPN profile
  • Open this file and press the button "apply". Please enter your account data and press "apply" again. Now you can start the VPN-connection with the symbol in the titlebar icon.
This option requires no additional software packages. However, all Internet traffic will be tunnelled through the TUHH. Please avoid video conferences during your VPN session!
