The final objective of the research project is to provide a macro-phenomenologically thermodynamic consistent thermo-viscoplasticity constitutive model for field assisted sintering (FAST) processes, validated by experimental observations, implemented into a p-FE method and taking into account effects of mechanical, thermal and electrical fields. This will be accomplished by investigating the principal physical effects and by developing the numerical algorithms for computing the underlying multi-field problem with quantitative uncertainty bounds.
