These settings only apply to students and employees of the TUHH. Students of other universities please use the settings of their university, also with us at the TUHH.

Connection to eduroam via eduroamCAT

At the TUHH, the program can be downloaded directly from the "VPN/WEB".
Use the automatically rising WebVPN under https://webvpn.rz.tuhh.de/ or navigate directly to https://cat.eduroam.org/.
After changing your password, please re-run the program to make the necessary adjustments.

  1. Open the link above to download eduroamCAT.
  2. Select "Hamburg University of Technology".
  3. Download the eduroamCAT and start the installation software.
  4. Connect to eduroam and log in with your TUHH account.

When the connection is established for the first time, the TUHH account and password are requested once.

Connection to eduroam manually

The following pictures show the necessary steps, in which you have to replace "cxx0000" and the password with your own RZ account and the currently valid password at the TUHH (click on the images to enlarge):

  • Open the Network & Internet settings and remove eduroam with the button Forget if it is still stored.

  • Open the Network and Sharing Center and click on Set up a new connection or network.

  • Click on Manually connect to a wireless network (Wi-Fi).

  • Enter the Network name eduroam and the Security type WPA2-Enterprise. Next open in the the additional connection settings and there the tab Security.

  • Choose the network authentication method Microsoft: EAP-TTLS and click on Settings on the right side.

  • Fill in the TTLS Properties fields as follows:
    • Select the check box Enable identity privacy and enter anonymous@tuhh.de into the text field.
    • Connect only to the server radius-wlan.rz.tuhh.de
    • Check as the only Trusted Root Certification Authorities the T-TeleSec GlobalRoot Class 2.
    • Check Don't promt user if unable to authorize server.
    • The Client authentication works over the non-EAP method for authenticationUnencrypted password (PAP).

  • Connect to eduroam and enter your TUHH-credentials on request.

If you are asked for the T-TeleSec GlobalRoot Class 2 root certificate fingerprint, please check it against:

The RZ recommends to not trust the eduoram network and to use a local firewall. This is due to several hundred different wireless devices, which connect to this network. If you use a Windows operating system, please select "public network" for the eduroam SSID. We recommend using the Windwos Firewall because there are no known issues with for example the VPN client.

(Unblocker are programs which can unlock content, that is blocked in one country, but not another.)
