Retirement Prof. Volker Turau

We would like to thank Volker Turau, who started his well-deserved retirement this month.

Volker Turau had been a professor at TUHH since 2002 and led the Institute of Telematics with great dedication from 2008. For many years, he was passionate about the computer science engineering program as its program coordinator. In particular, his significant steering of the reform of the program and his careful selection of master's students were very formative.

His teaching in the area of distributed systems was an integral part of the computer science curriculum. His commitment as Erasmus representative of the school of study and his participation in the council of elders ("Ältestenrat") were also invaluable.

Volker Turau has also made a significant contribution for many years as spokesman for the MLE Initiative in the area of knowledge transfer towards business and industry, thus strengthening the link between TUHH and industry.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Volker Turau for his continuous hard work and dedication. His influence will be felt at the School of Study and especially in the IIW program for a long time to come. We wish him all the best for his retirement and hope that he can enjoy this new phase of his life to the fullest.
