Intercultural Workshop for International Students
New to the university and interested in intercultural exchange? Join our intercultural workshop series for international and exchange students this summer semester. Together we will discuss stereotypes, culture shock, and university culture through interactive activities and conversations.
Through fun activities, discussions, and short exchange formats, we will get to know each other, reflect on cultural perspectives, and share experiences about studying and living in an international environment.
The first session, “Stereotypes and Prejudice,” will take place on Wednesday, April 8 at 16:00 in Room N 0009. Dates for the other two sessions will be announced soon.
Where is the Hamburg Palace? What does the Inner Alster Lake have to do with a miller? And how long does it take for a message in a bottle to reach the North Sea? Is the water in the harbour salty and how many containers can fit on the largest container ship?
In this combination of city walk, quiz and scavenger hunt, we show you the city centre with the town hall and the stock exchange, the Speicherstadt and Hafencity and take the ferry from the Elbphilharmonie to the Landungsbrücken. During this varied and dynamic Hamburg-Tour, the teams discover the harbour city in a playful way – and, eventually, there is a little surprise for the winning group!
Registration is required:
Join us for a guided tour of the impressive Hamburg City Hall. Discover its historic rooms, learn about the building's fascinating history, and gain valuable insights into local politics. The tour will be in English.
Afterwards, we will take a short walk to St. Nikolai Church, where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views of Hamburg from the tower. The church ruins, once the city’s main church, now serve as a memorial to the victims of the Second World War and offer a meaningful connection to Hamburg’s past.
