You are about to finish your studies and are wondering what career prospects there are for you in Hamburg❓

👉The Hamburg Welcome Center (HWC) would like to introduce you to the services that can help you make the transition from university to work. We also provide relevant information on residence, employment, and self-employment and support you in your job search and application process.

After a 30-minute input in German, we will take time to answer your questions. The information will be available to you in German and English.

Join us for a city tour in simple German and discover Hamburg’s historic Speicherstadt warehouse district and the modern HafenCity.

We’ll start on Deichstraße, with its historic half-timbered houses along the canal. From there, we’ll walk to the Speicherstadt, where coffee, cocoa, tea and many other goods were stored from the 19th century until the middle of the 20th century.

Along the way, we’ll learn why the free port and Speicherstadt were built, what was here before, and what you can see today in the area between the Elbphilharmonie and Lohsepark. We’ll also explore HafenCity, Hamburg’s new urban district, and look at how it differs from the historic Speicherstadt.

The tour is open to everyone with German at B1 level or above who would like to experience Hamburg while practicing and improving their German.

The Übersee-Museum Bremen is a museum in Bremen, Germany that includes a significant focus on technology. It combines natural science, ethnology, and technology collections under one roof and features exhibits on topics such as shipping, transportation, industry, and technology from around the world.

The ArtRoom project “Quo Vadis” is all about exploring your personal places of longing—and turning them into art.

Join us for relaxed workshop session in a studio near TUHH. Together, we’ll play with painting techniques, get inspired, and create your own visual ideas.

No experience needed—just come as you are. All materials are provided, and a professional artist will guide you along the way.

We’ll wrap things up with a small exhibition at TUHH, where you can showcase what you’ve created.

Join our semester opening of the language cafés.

Meet new people and chat in different languages in a relaxed, easygoing atmosphere.

In our Language Cafés you’ll have the chance to improve your language skills in a relaxed setting, meet new people, and enjoy interesting conversations. Each session is led by native speakers, giving you the chance to experience the language and culture firsthand.

A workshop for all TUHH students

What does “culture” actually mean in our everyday lives – and how does it shape the way we communicate with each other?

This workshop invites both international and German students to reflect on their own cultural background and discover new perspectives on cultural differences. Together, we will explore how our experiences, perceptions and cultural influences can shape the way we communicate and interact with others.

Together, we’ll take a closer look at how our experiences and perspectives shape the way we communicate. Through practical examples and open exchange, we’ll explore how intercultural misunderstandings can arise and discover ways to navigate different perspectives and challenging situations.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation from our partner InterCultur Hamburg, who will conduct the workshop.

The workshop will be held in English.
