TUHH is offering a variety of language courses on different levels. Detailed information about the courses and granting of credit points are given here. Language cafés, tandem learning and the Intercultural Language Learning also enable language acquisition on an informal level.
Each semester TUHH offers German language courses for students in international degree programs ( English-language Master's programs and the Bachelor's programme Engineering Science/Advanced Materials) on different levels.
This course is designed for international and German students and invites them to explore cultural aspects at the intersections of technology, natural sciences and humanities.
Ms. Uta Bories, a long experienced lecturer in German as a Foreign Language (DaF), advises on all questions regarding the improvement and certification of German language skills (e.g. courses within and outside the TUHH, online offers, tests).
Weekly language cafés in German, run and supervised by native speakers on a voluntary basis. In addition to improving language skills, the project offers a platform for intercultural learning and exchange outside the curriculum.
The workshops support international students in recognizing intercultural misunderstandings of linguistic origin, understanding their causes and finding possible strategies to act appropriately.
