The Structural Analysis - Building Practice conference has been held every three years at different university locations since 1981 - this year the event was jointly organised by the Institute of Structural Analysis at Hamburg University of Technology, the Chair of Design and Analysis of Structures at HafenCity University Hamburg and the Chair of Structural Analysis and Dynamics at Helmut Schmidt University (Universität der Bundeswehr) and took place at TU Hamburg for the first time.
Bastian Oesterle, Professor of Structural Analysis at TU Hamburg, commented: "We are very pleased about the lively participation in the 15th Structural Analysis - Construction Practice conference. With more than 270 participants and a total of 95 presentations on exciting topics from science and practice, we can be absolutely satisfied. It was a lot of fun and I would like to thank the entire organisation team for this great team effort!"

The event is organised by the Research Association Baustatik - Baupraxis e.V., represented by the chairs and institutes for structural analysis in German-speaking countries. The "Structural Analysis - Building Practice" conference is intended to serve as a forum for a dialogue between engineers working in practice and university research, in which current developments for calculation methods and design concepts as well as challenges in current construction projects are discussed.

In a plenary session, six young scientists from all over Germany were also given the opportunity to present their current research topic to the entire audience in a five-minute short presentation. Following the six short presentations, the best three presentations were selected and honoured by the Hamburg Construction Industry Foundation.
