EIMday 2025

An inspiring day for students

On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, this year’s EIMday was held by the School of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics, in collaboration with the ET/IT Student Council. Dean Prof. Ruprecht opened the event and welcomed numerous students and researchers from the School.
The focus of EIMday was on exciting insights into current research projects: Over 40 posters offered diverse insights into the work of researchers and students. Three students—Max Kretschmann (Amateur Radio Club), Parimala Siravaj (ECIU Project at the Institute for Ethics in Technology), and Pia Borchers (Human-Centric Machine Learning)—also presented their projects in short, lively poster pitches.
This year, the new professors Holger Kapels (Power Electronic Devices), Qiang Li (Integrated Circuits and Systems), and Olaf Landsiedel (Networked Cyber-Physical Systems) introduced themselves to the students, providing interesting insights into future research topics and course offerings.
Another highlight was the guest lecture by Stefan Möws, a TUHH alumnus and employee of the startup suena, as well as the research presentation by Lennart Bohl, a researcher at the Institute for Theoretical Electrical Engineering, from the IEEE&VDE Study Group’s “What’s your research about” series. In addition to the research presentations, various student working groups also introduced themselves, including the HULKs, e-gnition, HALO, Cubesat, and the Amateur Radio AG. These working groups offer students the opportunity to experience technical practice, teamwork, and innovation firsthand. Awards were also presented for two outstanding posters: Til Hillebrecht and Jan Heßling received the award for best poster for their work titled “SI/PI-Database and Data-Driven Signal and Power Integrity on Printed Circuit Boards.” In addition, a poster prize for the most inspiring poster was awarded to Prof. Stefan Schulte on the topic of “Data Engineering”.

EIMday 2025 thus once again provided an excellent platform for exchange among students, researchers, and faculty. The diverse range of presentations, pitches, and posters, as well as the opportunity to learn about student projects, made the day an inspiring experience and an important bridge between research and academic studies at the TUHH. We thank everyone involved for their dedication and are already looking forward to EIMday 2026!
