The intensive courses for new students in international Master’s programmes offer an excellent opportunity to prepare for your stay at TU Hamburg (TUHH) before the start of the semester. The courses are designed to help students improve their German language skills, get familiar with life at TUHH, and meet fellow students and make new social connections.

The courses usually take place on the TUHH campus two weeks before the start of lectures and are organised in cooperation with our partner, Interkulturelle Bildung Hamburg (IBH e.V.).

Participation is free of charge and voluntary. Please note that no ECTS credits are awarded for participation.

INTENSIVE COURSE WINTER SEMESTER: Places Still Available

A limited number of places are still available for our intensive German courses at levels A1, A2 and B1.

28 September – 9 October 2026 | 9:00 am–2:00 pm | TUHH campus | no ECTS credits

The remaining places are now open to all interested TUHH students, including students from higher semesters. Participation is free of charge. 

Please note: A placement test is required for registration (except for participants with no previous knowledge of German).  Please take the Cornelsen Online Test ( https://www.cornelsen.de/empfehlungen/sprachtest ) . If you have no previous knowledge, no placement test is required. Registrations will only be considered if your language proficiency level is clearly indicated in the registration!

Attendance from the first day, 28 September, is mandatory. Late participation is not possible.
