Development of an application transformation guide from on premise to cloud native

PricewaterhouseCoopers GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungs- und Beratungsgesellschaft, PwC Germany, is one of the leading professional services firms in Germany. PwC offers services in the areas of auditing and audit-related services (Assurance), tax consulting, as well as in the areas of consulting and deals (Advisory). In our Cloud Team, within CIO Advisory, we support clients in their transition to cloud computing. Among other things, we develop cloud architectures that meet all the necessary requirements for performance, stability and flexibility. Taking into account the individual IT landscapes of our customers, we use proven methods to ensure a fast and smooth migration to the cloud. In addition, we now support our customers in efficiently transferring their applications to the cloud-native world.

Aims of the project
Exciting opportunity to gain insight into the job of an IT Consultant / Cloud Architect. Design the cloud architecture of tomorrow. Sharpen your own profile and possibly get to know your future employer.

Your task is to research common application architectures. Based on this compilation of architectures, develop corresponding Cloud Native target architectures and create a plan for how a migration/transformation from the classic application architectures to Cloud Native architectures is possible. Example 3-tier architecture (frontend, backend, DB) -> (Web App, Serverless Function, SQL Cloud Database). This migration should be as efficient and automated as possible. A practical implementation and testing of the hypothetical solutions is part of the project. In addition, a project plan with milestones will be created over the entire project duration and the progress will be presented in status meetings.

  • Migration guide, scripts for automation (time required, cost)

There is neither a predefined solution nor restrictive guidelines. There are almost no limits to your creativity. All solutions can be implemented cloud agnostic.
