A topping-out ceremony of a different kind took place on November 15, 2023 at the Dean's Office of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), where 13 groups of students took part in an unusual but delicious competition.

Under the motto "Bridges", the students had three hours to create breathtaking structures from speculoos, icing and other treats. This innovative event was organized with great dedication by the Civil and Environmental Engineering Student Council and brought a delicious touch to the world of civil and environmental engineering.

The jury, consisting of TUHH professors - Mr. Jürgen Grabe, Mr. Peter Fröhle, Mr. Bastian Österle and Mr. Marcus Rutner - judged the creative works with enthusiasm. In the end, three outstanding "edible" buildings were chosen as winners.

The Dean's Office of Civil and Environmental Engineering would like to thank its FSR and congratulate the winning teams on their impressive creativity and their skill in turning sweets into true works of art. A sweet highlight that redefined civil and environmental engineering.
