Sustainability Council at TU Hamburg

The Sustainability Council advises the Executive Board on the targeted further development of sustainability aspects in everyday university life. Representatives of all status groups – from students, academic and technical staff through to professors – jointly identify and prioritise concrete measures for a more sustainable campus and support their implementation.

The Council focuses on areas including energy and heating, buildings and spaces, procurement, mobility, waste and circular economy, as well as water and green spaces. It brings together existing activities, identifies areas for action, prioritises measures and supports their coordination with the relevant organisational units. In doing so, it works transparently, involves the university community and is guided by the Whole Institution Approach, which understands sustainability as a responsibility of the entire university.
