A day dedicated to Process Engineering

From Thesis projects to starting a career: students, academics and businesses engage in dialogue

The 2nd "Tag der Verfahrenstechnik" (Day of the School of Process Engineering) attracted again many interested students keen to find out about career opportunities after graduation. The Dean of the School, Prof. Gescher, opened the event at 1 pm by presenting the latest developments in the School of Process Engineering. Prof. Löffler introduced his newly established “Institute for Molecular and Multimaterial Manufacturing” (V-12). Hereinafter outstanding degree results were awarded. Following this, a poster exhibition was held to present thesis topics to interested students.

From 3 pm, 11 company representatives gave short presentations on their work and potential career entry opportunities for graduates. These included international concerns, regional partners and innovative start-ups from the biotechnology, utilities and energy sectors. Alongside the presentations, students made full use of the opportunity to find out about career entry at the companies’ information desks. The Dean of the School, Prof. Gescher, and the Process Engineering Students’ Association were very pleased with the students interest and the exchange with the companies. The participating companies were also delighted by the students’ immense interest in their work.

The Student Council of Process Engineering provided refreshments in the form of a barbecue and drinks, where contacts and discussions took place in a relaxed atmosphere.
