Dialogue and academic participation in Harburg

Professor Smarsly, Head of the Institute of Digital and Autonomous Construction (IDAC) and Mounib Doukali, Deputy Chair and Dialogue Officer of SCHURA Hamburg and Imam of the El-Iman Mosque Hamburg-Harburg, aim to step up local dialogue in Harburg in order to promote equal opportunities and academic participation. Together with other local stakeholders, they aim to make pathways to degree programmes, PhDs and career development more visible and accessible, particularly in civil and environmental engineering. Starting in 2027, joint information and dialogue events are planned, under the provisional slogan ‘BauTeilHabe". The collaboration is part of a broader initiative aiming to reduce structural barriers, recognize potential, and create lasting educational opportunities, in which further social organizations, local initiatives, and community partners will be participating.
