On 2 October 2026, representatives of the TUHH contributed with their expertise to the event "Future Technologies for Hamburg", organized jointly by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and TUHH. Representatives from industry, academia, and politics came together to discuss the potential of robotics and artificial intelligence for Hamburg’s economy.
Prof. Smarsly from the School for Civil and Environmental Engineering presented current developments and application perspectives for civil engineering, while the IDAC team complemented his presentation with demonstrations of selected robotic applications. As one of the outcomes, further exchange formats between industry and academia were agreed upon, to jointly explore technological potential and further strengthen Hamburg as an innovation hub. Smarsly also drew attention to the fact that, in this context, more professorships are needed in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
