At the “Building with Clay for Young and Old” festival in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg, Prof. Smarsly and staff from his Institute for Digital and Autonomous Construction (IDAC) had the opportunity to further develop their ideas for collaboration in research, teaching and knowledge transfer with Bunte Kuh e.V., the festival’s organiser. Further opportunities for collaboration were discussed, particularly in the area of social inclusion and support for people who face barriers to participation due to displacement, migration or socio-economic circumstances.
In Hamburg, Bunte Kuh e.V. already collaborates with around 110 educational institutions per initiative, such as nurseries and schools, the HCU (HafenCity University Hamburg) and the UKE (Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf), as well as many other organisations in the fields of health promotion, culture, education and refugee accommodation. The IDAC would like to support this project in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg with its expert knowledge.
