From 9 to 10 September 2025, the 35th Colloquium on Wastewater Management took place in Audimax II, organised by the Institute for Wastewater Management and Water Protection. Dr Joachim Behrendt welcomed the participants and also gave the closing speech on the second day.
The speakers from academia and industry addressed topics such as sewage sludge utilisation and nutrient recovery, micropollutants, microplastics and PFAS, hygiene and hospital wastewater, water reuse, sewage treatment plant operation, and rainwater management.
The ‘Come Together’ on the first evening of the conference provided an opportunity for a lively exchange of experiences.
The colloquium is a joint event organised by: the Ministry for the Environment, Climate, Energy and Agriculture (BUKEA) of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the Department of Environmental Technology at HAW Hamburg, GFEU, Hamburg Wasser, and the Institute for Wastewater Management and Water Protection at TUHH. It is being held in cooperation with the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce.
