The TUHH has many international research collaborations with partners in more than 50 countries. One of the TUHH’s goals is to intensify and extend the relationships for student exchanges. We encourage you to explore our international pages to discover how you can connect with TUHH and find more information for incoming and outgoing students and their opportunities at MST department.
Information for Outgoings
Stays abroad are an important and desirable part of the internationally oriented MST study programs. We make every effort to offer students the best opportunities to study at one of our renowned foreign partner universities. Within the structure of the Erasmus program, it is possible to fund study stays in many European countries. Every year, MST students go to universities in Sweden (e.g. Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg), Spain (e.g. Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), and Italy (e.g. Politecnico di Milano, Milan) where they complete parts of their studies. In addition to the Erasmus program, the Deanery's partnerships with universities outside Europe also enable you to complete parts of your studies at renowned universities worldwide. Cooperations with Japan (e.g. Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Tokyo), China (e.g. Peking University), and Australia (e.g. Victoria University, Melbourne) are being further developed to enable even more students to participate in an exchange. Furthermore, we highly encourage incoming students from our partner universities to visit the TUHH through existing cooperations, for example, within the framework of the Joint Master in Global Technology and Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship, thereby contributing to the international character of the TUHH experience on campus and in the courses.
Information for Incomings
Since its founding in 1978, Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) has turned into a popular and successful training centre for the new generation of (business) engineers. The MST is the youngest TUHH department and was founded in 2007. We offer four different bachelor and master study programs which reflect the department’s manifold content alignment with a combination of classical business administration subjects such as strategy, HR and marketing along with expertise in adjacent disciplines such as entrepreneurship, innovation, logistics, and mobility.
Teaching excellence is one of the most important goals at TUHH and our department. Together with the Center for Teaching and Learning, educators work with students and faculty to develop methods that activate students in the learning process, and help them to develop in-depth understanding that takes them well beyond their next exam.
The university's extensive range of international degree programs and our excellent reputation attract plenty of foreign students. Around one in five of our students come from abroad, spending all or part of their studies here.
Apart from this, Hamburg is really a city worth living in. Germany's second largest city can offer its residents a unique proximity to water and green spaces in combination with the benefits of living in the middle of a pulsating metropolis. Besides a broad range of activities appealing to sports enthusiasts, culture vultures can watch a movie or a musical, go to an open-air concert or immerse themselves in Hamburg’s legendary night life.
