Acedemic Self-Administration

The Advisory Board advises the Executive Board on important structural measures and confirms the election of the President and elects the Chancellor.


The Academic Senate decides on central matters of the university. All status groups of Hamburg University of Technology are represented in it. It can appoint various committees, e.g. for teaching and research.

The student councils and the AStA are independent bodies and part of the academic self-administration.
