The School of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics, together with the ET/IT Student Council, proudly hosted this year’s EIMday. Our Dean, Prof. Ruprecht, warmly welcomed students and researchers, officially opening a day filled with inspiring scientific exchange and new opportunities.

Following an overview of last year’s highlights and achievements at our school, Prof. Andreas Tittl introduced himself as the new head of the Institute for Photonics. He provided fascinating insights into his current research and outlined upcoming course offerings.

Three students captivated the audience with short presentations, demonstrating the exciting research possibilities even at the thesis stage. Frederik Eberhard presented his project “Radar Enhancement with 3D Printed Lenses,” Per Ole Hoyer discussed “Quantum Noise Spectroscopy Verification,” and Sarah Klass shared her work on “3D Printed Massive Antenna Arrays.”

The science fair at EIMday 2026 featured more than 40 posters and exhibits showcasing innovative research projects and hands-on work from both students and faculty. Two poster prizes were awarded this year: Niklas Diecklow received recognition for his poster “CODA: State Criticality via Optimal Interventions under Decaying Agency,” and Dr. Nicolás E. Díaz Ferreyra was honored for his poster "Developer-Centered Management of Security Debt."

A new highlight this year was the joint Alumni & Career Talk, organized in collaboration with the Career Center and TUHH Alumni. Against the backdrop of a job market transformed by Artificial Intelligence, alumni from EIM study programs shared their early career experiences in data science, computer engineering, and related fields. Sebastian Lindner, Reyhaneh Rajabigamchi, Finja Schnoor, and Johannes Heise provided valuable guidance and inspiration for current students navigating their professional journeys.

With its diverse formats, EIMday 2026 once again proved to be a key event fostering collaboration between research and education at TUHH. We thank all participants for their enthusiasm and look forward to building on this success in the years to come.
