On September 25 and 26, the “smart Geotech” workshop discussed the new opportunities and challenges for geotechnical engineering arising from artificial intelligence, automation, and robotics.
The workshop was divided into three parts: First, the focus was on highlighting current research topics. This was followed by a discussion on the necessary adaptation of teaching to the future working methods of civil engineers, which will be changed by the use of language models (LLM). The third part provided insight into what is already being implemented in practice and what is seen as the future.
The event was organized by the Institute for Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Management (B-5) headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Grabe.
