The Hamburg University of Technology has achieved top rankings in the latest 2026/27 university rankings by the CHE Centre for Higher Education. The study conditions and opportunities were evaluated in the following degree programs: “Industrial Engineering – Specialization in Logistics and Mobility” (Bachelor’s), “International Management and Engineering” (Master’s), “Logistics, Infrastructure, and Mobility” (Master’s), “Joint Master’s in Global Technology and Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship” (G-TIME), and the “Technology Management” program (MBA/M.A.) at the Northern Institute of Technology Management (NIT).

In the factors “Contact with Professional Practice” and “International Orientation of Studies and Teaching,” the “Technology Management” program ranks among the top in the CHE’s ranking. In the “International Orientation” category, the “G-TIME” Joint Master’s program even achieved the highest possible score.

To assess student satisfaction, students in the bachelor’s program “Industrial Engineering – Specialization in Logistics and Mobility” were surveyed. Students rated the course offerings as particularly high quality (4.2 out of 5 stars), as well as the support services available during their studies (4.2) and the guidance provided by faculty (4.1). The general study environment (4.1) and digital teaching elements (4.1) also received high marks in the student evaluation. This places TU Hamburg at the national average overall. The survey of master’s students will take place in the summer semester of 2026.

About the Ranking

The CHE University Ranking has been published exclusively in the ZEIT Study Guide and on ZEIT ONLINE for twenty years. According to its own statements, it is the most comprehensive university comparison in the German-speaking world. This year, the CHE University Ranking covers the fields of law, business administration, economics, business studies, business informatics, industrial engineering, business psychology, business law, and social work.

In total, approximately 35,000 students at 265 universities and universities of applied sciences (HAW) provided feedback on their study conditions. For the evaluation, the CHE also draws on publication lists, special analyses from the Federal Statistical Office, and written surveys of university departments. In addition to facts about studies, teaching, and research, the ranking also assesses how students rate the practical relevance of their degree programs and career preparation measures. The complete CHE university ranking is available online at HeyStudium.

The 280-page ZEIT Study Guide 2026/27, which covers everything related to finding a place to study and includes excerpts from the current ranking, will be available in stores starting May 9 and online at https://abo.zeit.de/zeit-studienfuehrer-produkt/.
