LinkedIN Post: How can actuators be turned into sensors? We found an answer when it comes to vibrotactile actuators, those small devices anyone of us owns as part of wearables to create haptic feedback. With some basic understanding they can easily give some information on posture, with some more models they can become real sensors for impedance coupling. At the Interactive Haptics Conference #IAHC2025, hosted and invited to by GREWUS GmbH into the wonderful city of Hamburg, Juliana Lüer and I had an opportunity to share our insight into actuator testing, modelling and advanced dependencies we identified at Institute for Mechatronics in Mechanics. Thank you for all the fruitful discussions in this industrial-oriented setting. Looking forward to expand this into even more inspiring research in our academic role!
