The Institute of Mechatronics at Hamburg University of Technology operates specialized laboratories that connect fundamental research with practical applications. The Haptics Lab focuses on human–machine interaction, enabling studies of tactile feedback, ergonomics, and control interfaces. The Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Lab provides a flexible environment for testing power electronic systems and energy networks under realistic operating conditions, without risk to full-scale hardware. The Optics Lab supports precision measurement and sensing, with applications especially in the domain of light-field-measurement. Further facilities include the impedance measurement lab and multiple test-stand for thermal analysis or specific sensor measurements.. Together, these facilities foster interdisciplinary research, technology transfer, and hands-on education for students and industry partners.
