Research

My research work involves developing a methodology for the holistic optimization of coupled ship energy systems. I am fascinated by the complexity of these systems, how they can nevertheless be abstracted into tangible questions, and how these questions can be translated into intelligent optimization problems. I am passionate about advancing research through diligence and a focus on the big picture, and I am convinced that the holistic approach of my optimization methodology will contribute to the decarbonization of shipping.

Teaching

I consider good teaching to be essential in engineering education and have been an enthusiastic tutor since almost the beginning of my studies. With this experience, I now have the opportunity to help shape teaching activities at the institute. In the winter semester, I am jointly responsible for Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering, and in the summer semester, I act as a supervisor for students in Applied Design Methodologies in Mechatronics.
