Welcome to the Institute for Mechatronics in Mechanics (iMEK) at Hamburg University of Technology. We invite you to take a look at our work, competencies, our active research and the people behind all of this.
We are open to challenges and collaboration with medium-sized companies or large industrial enterprises in all mechatronic issues, from component design in sensor and actuator technology to control engineering and robotics. We cover a wide range of electrical and mechanical metrics between 1V and 1kV, as well as actuators from a few milliwatts to almost 100 kW of electrical and mechanical power. We assist with fault analysis and expert reports, perform electromagnetic designs, system analyses, and simulations, and thus help to develop new and improved systems and their design methodologies. If you are interested in our services or in working with us, please contact us.
The leading direction for our work can be described as “human-centered engineering.” We follow this idea throughout our research work, but especially in teaching. In our daily work, this means that we not only maintain traditional expertise in research on electric drives and systems as well as hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) analysis of control strategies for supply networks and und load behavior for components, but also focus on the new field of human-machine interaction, especially with the visual and haptic senses.
We look forward to hearing from you! For more information about our research, please click here.
