Aims

In this joint research project a composite aircraft seat is developed in collaboration with the Lufthansa Technik AG and AIDA Development GmbH.

Key topics of the project are

the development of a novel and material appropriate concept for aircraft seating
the development of a modular product structure in order to configure a high external product variety while minimizing the internal variety of components and procedures
lightweight design by appropriate usage of fibre reinforced plastics

Approach

research and analysis of state-of-the-art technologies
analysis of requirements
research on feasible materials
material appropriate design of primary structure
FEM analysis and optimization
Design for Variety and modularization of the product family
testing of material and components
