We are delighted to be hosting ICED27 in Hamburg from 16 to 20 August 2027 under the motto ‘Design Research Meets Engineering Practice’.

The International Conference on Engineering Design (ICED) is a renowned conference series that has been held every two years since the 1980s, alternating between Europe and North America. It covers a wide range of topics in the field of engineering design, including product development, design methods, innovation management, user centricity and sustainable design. The conferences provide opportunities for networking and interaction between researchers, practitioners and industry representatives. ICED27 is being organised by Prof. Dieter Krause as conference chair together with Prof. Nikola Bursac from the Institute for Smart Engineering and Machine Elements (ISEM) as well as Prof. Albert Albers (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology), Prof. Sandro Wartzack (Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg) and Prof. Kilian Gericke (University of Rostock).

True to the conference motto, the focus of ICED27 is on the close interconnection between research and practice. The announcement video provides a first impression of Hamburg as the venue and the conference theme.
