Bartosz Tegowski won the Young Engineer Prize at this years's 55th edition of the European Microwave Conference 2025 in Utrecht.

At Europe's largest microwave conference, the European Microwave Conference (EuMC), outstanding contributions by young researchers are honored with the Young Engineer Prize. At this year's 55th edition of the European Microwave Conference 2025 in Utrecht, this special award was presented to Bartosz Tegowski for his contribution “Fast Determination of the Radar Channel in the Near-Field of Electrically Large Targets.”

The contribution deals with the fast and efficient calculation of the radar receive signal for configurations where the radar antenna is located in the near field of an electrically large target. This arrangement occurs in numerous short-range applications, such as radar-based contactless vital-sign sensing. In the near field of the target, interesting phenomena occur, which can be accurately and efficiently predicted by the proposed method.
