CURRICULUM VITAE:

Born in 1980 in Dachau and graduated from Reuchlin Gymnasium (Ingolstadt) in 1999. Attended Berlin University of Technology for studying naval architecture and ocean engineering in 2000. After the project thesis at The Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA) in 2004 and Global Product Development course (University of Michigan) the master’s thesis was conducted at BMT Fleet Technology in Ottawa, CA, 2006. After graduation he joined Allseas bv in Delft, NL in early 2007, as naval architect. In late 2008 he was commencing doctoral studies at Helsinki University of Technology (HUT) as Researcher. In 2010 becoming laboratory manager of the ice tank at Aalto University (former HUT) as well as doctoral student at the Norwegian University of Technology (NTNU) in 2012 (joined degree with Aalto University). The graduation followed in 2016 as Doctor of Science from Aalto University (mid. 2016) and Ph.D. from NTNU (late 2016). From August 2016 until February 2022 he was the senior research engineer (Oberingenieur) at the Hamburg University of Technology and responsible for teaching, research and the strength lab. From October 2020 he was in part time Acting Professor at the Universität Hamburg for Ocean Dynamics in a Changing Climate. Since March 2022 he is the Head of the Institute for Ship Structural Design and Analysis.
