Märthe Theresa Tillmann received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Her studies included a stay at ETH Zurich and she conducted her master’s thesis at University College London (UCL), where she developed Python-based tools for Model-Based Design of Experiments (MBDoE) in kinetic model identification. She subsequently applied these skills during an experimental research project at Cambridge CARES. Between 2023 and 2025, she worked at KPMG. Since November 2025, she has been employed by Ehrfeld Mikrotechnik GmbH and is pursuing her Ph.D. at the Institute of Process Systems Engineering.

Märthe Theresa’s research focuses on advancing reaction systems engineering through closed loop continuous flow reactor systems. Her work involves the development and application of algorithms, in particular using Model-Based Design of Experiments (MBDoE) for kinetic model identification and Bayesian optimization for reaction process optimization. Additionally, she conducts experimental studies using Ehrfeld Mikrotechnik’s capillary reactor as part of the Modular Micro Reaction System (MMRS) at lab scale and a millistructured plate reactor at pilot scale.
