Bartosz Tegowski, Dominik Langer, Marvin Wenzel, Nils Alibrecht und Alexander Kölpin have been awarded the 2026 Sergei A. Schelkunoff Transactions Prize Paper Award for the best paper in 2025.

The “Sergei A. Schelkunoff Transactions Prize Paper Award” is presented annually to the authors of the best paper published in the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation---one of the most renowned publications within the research area of antennas and propagation of electromagnetic waves---during the previous year.

This prestigious award was presented in 2026 for the article "Near-Field Scattering Phenomena in Monostatic Radar Applications Derived From Physical Optics" , which was published in February 2025. The award-winning paper was authored by the research group at the Institute of High-Frequency Technology, Hamburg University of Technology, consisting of Bartosz Tegowski, Dominik Langer, Marvin Wenzel, Nils Albrecht, and Alexander Kölpin. The paper analyzes specific phenomena, which arise due to scattering in the near field of electrically large targets in short-range radar applications.

The official announcement has been published on the website of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas Propagation.
