The presentation entitled Short-Range Phenomena in Radar-Based Sensing deals with the impact of the own radar cross section of a short-range radar sensor on the measurement accuracy and discusses interesting near-field phenomena resulting from the short antenna-to-target distance, which lead to a significantly different radar channel behavior than expected from conventional modelling approaches.
The presented results are important for the understanding and improvement of radar sensors for short-range applications such as in industrial or medical context.
