The award was presented for his contribution "Compensation of Self-RCS and IQ-Demodulation Imperfections of Continuous-Wave Radar Systems". The paper deals with the calibration of continuous-wave radars. Here, imperfections of the radar including its own radar cross section (self-RCS) are compensated.
Thanks to the proposed concept, relative distances can be measured with an accuracy in the micrometer range.
