We’re very happy to welcome Kaspar Eucken as our new research associate in the institute! Kaspar is part of the Research Training Group on Climate Informed Engineering. In collaboration with scientists from Max Planck Institute for Meteorology and United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health in Canada, the RTG on CIE Climate Informed Engineering, funded by German Research Foundation (DFG), has been launched in 2025 at Technische Universität Hamburg. The CIE Research Training Group connects cutting-edge climate science with innovative engineering  to create solutions that are resilient, adaptive, and sustainable. And also welcome Hasan Khalil! He succeeds Zhi Cheng Hua and will be working on the project “Spouted Bed Coating of Battery Heteroaggregates” within the second funding phase of the DFG Priority Programme SPP 2289 “Hetero-Aggregates.” The SPP 2289, led by Lutz Mädler, focuses on understanding and controlling heterogeneous particle systems (hetero-aggregates) to create novel materials with tailored properties - for example, in energy storage, catalysis, and sensing technologies.  More about SPP 2289: https://www.uni-bremen.de/spp2289 In our subproject, a spouted bed process is developed and optimized for structuring conductive battery aggregates. The goal is to generate composite particles made from several primary materials - solvent-free, scalable, and with enhanced electrical and ionic conductivity - to advance next-generation solid-state batteries. Investigations are conducted both experimentally and numerically. Back to Institute SPE - News
