Education at the IUE

The Institute for Environmental Technology and Energy Economics sets great value upon teaching. In addition to several courses offered to students of the TUHH, the institute is involved in national and international educational projects: e.g. a student exchange with Jordan universities, Erasmus+ / DAAD projects, RECREEW Spring School and an „integral“ advanced training program for refugee-engineers. Beschreibung:
Im Projektierungskurs sollen die Studierenden in Arbeitsgruppen den Gesamtkomplex einer energie- oder verfahrenstechnischen Anlage planen, die einzelnen Anlagenkomponenten auslegen und berechnen sowie eine vollständige Kostenkalkulation erarbeiten. Bei der Projektierung sind sicherheitstechnische Aspekte zu berücksichtigen sowie das Genehmigungsverfahren/Behördenengineering. In the Process Design Project the students have to design in teams an energy or process engineering plant by calculating and designing single plant components. The calculation of costs as well as the process safety is another important aspect of this course. Furthermore the approval procedures have to be taken into account.

The course will take place within 3 weeks from 13.3-31.3.2023.
There are two mandatory sessions (in person):
13.3 Kick-Off session
31.3 Final presentations
Between this time, the groups work together to design the process.

There will be two teams assigned by us a few weeks before the course. Within these teams, there are groups of 3-4 working on different aspects of the project.

We will update you with a way to register in the near future. There is no need to register like a usual exam. Examination will be conducted within the course.
