Biography
Thomas Wrona, after completing a commercial apprenticeship (1983-1986) and subsequently working for five years, graduated from the University of Essen in 1993 with a degree in business administration.
Doctorate (1998) and habilitation (2005) University of Essen.
October 2003 to October 2005 Deputy Chair of Organization & Empirical Management Research.
November 2005 to March 2011 Holder of the Chair of Organization & Empirical Management Research at ESCP Europe Berlin.
August to September 2010 Harvard Business School, Cambridge/Mass., Global Colloquium on Participant-Centered Learning.
September 2010 Appointment to the W-3 Professorship of Strategic & International Management at the Hamburg University of Technology.
Since April 2011 Head of the Institute for Strategic & International Management at the Hamburg University of Technology.
Research stays at the Newcastle Business School, Newcastle, Australia (2018/19) and at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Melbourne, Australia (2020, 2023, 2024).
Since 2010, annual offering of the course “Qualitative Management Research and Mixed Methods” as part of the PhD program in the Association of University Professors of Business Administration (VHB ProDok).
