The project will develop and further enhance results and momentum from the activities initiated and supported by the Northern Maritime Corridor project (in the continuation referred to as NMC), pursuing the vision of the NMC as a means of efficient, safe and sustainable transportation corridor, connecting coastal areas and enhancing regional development in the North Sea Region and the Northern Periphery Area. In particular the MoNS will be geared at creating awareness of the concept of Motorways of the Sea as a means of moving cargo from road to sea, and furthermore to make the Northern Maritime Corridor an integral part of the European network of Motorways of the Sea.

A main concern will be to improve the communication with the actors in the transportation market, enhancing the business network.
