The award, given by the Particle Technology Forum at the 2025 AIChE Annual Meeting in Boston, recognizes a "recent outstanding scientific/technical accomplishment which has made a significant impact in the field of fluid-particle systems or in a related field with potential for cross fertilization."

Nach seiner akademischen Laufbahn als Professor für Technologie‑ und Innovationsmanagement verabschiedete sich Prof. Dr. Cornelius Herstatt nach 27 Jahren am 30. September 2025 von der Technischen Universität Hamburg. Die Leitung des Instituts für Technologie- und Innovationsmanagement übernimmt Prof. Dr. Moritz Göldner, zunächst kommissarisch bis 2028. Er ist Leiter der Arbeitsgruppe Data-Driven Innovation und seit Juni 2022 Juniorprofessor an der TUHH. Prof. Herstatt bleibt der Wissenschaft verbunden - als Honorarprofessor an der University of Auckland (Schwerpunkt Circular Economy) sowie ab November 2025 als Gastprofessor an der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg mit Fokus auf Innovationsmanagement und Nachhaltigkeit.
