The CampusLAB on Global Soil Health, Water, and Climate has released a new educational video demonstrating how to measure soil bulk density, one of the most important indicators of soil health.
Bulk density influences numerous above- and belowground processes, including water movement, root development, carbon storage, and agricultural productivity. Accurate measurement is therefore essential for soil quality assessment and sustainable land management.
The video is freely available for use in teaching and research and forms part of a series of educational resources developed at the Institute of Geo-Hydroinformatics. Many thanks to Patrik Heintze and Johannes Carstensen for their contributions to the production of the video.
