NTA: Scientific discourse

To ensure the best possible progress in a technical–scientific environment, it is essential that the best ideas prevail. This requires communicating them in a way that others can clearly understand.

Communication skills therefore play a central role – encompassing both the ability to convey information accurately and to facilitate discussions effectively. Alongside the visual design of a presentation, which should guide the audience through the talk, precise wording in scientific discourse is crucial.

This course equips Master’s students with key skills for presenting complex scientific topics in a precise, structured, and impactful way.
Students will learn to formulate research questions clearly, substantiate hypotheses with sound methodology, and systematically integrate literature analyses into their arguments.
Following each presentation, intensive discussion and feedback sessions will enable presenters to reflect on and improve their scientific reasoning and presentation techniques, based on targeted input from peers and instructors
