IHF is collaborating to build a new generation of quantum computers.

The Institute of High Frequency Technology is seeking doctoral students for high-frequency- and digital-design-related research on ion-trap-based quantum computers.

The Institute of High Frequency Technology together with the Institute of Microsystems Engineering of the TUHH and the Institute of Laser Physics of the Uni Hamburg together with the industrial partners NXP, eleQtron and parityQC were successful in the DLR tender on ion trap based quantum computers.

In this consortium, we will work on high-frequency topics concerning scalable signal generation for quantum excitation at 12.6 GHz and the coupling of different quantum chips via microwave. For this we are looking for motivated graduates and master students with knowledge in the fields of high frequency technology or design of digital circuits (VHDL or Verilog). If you are interested, please contact Alexander Kölpin.
