In this soldering workshop led by Steffen and Ashwin, you’ll learn how to use a soldering iron safely and build your own circuit board to control an LED strip. A materials fee of €10 applies.
Prerequisite: Participation in the theory workshop “Turning and Milling.” In this hands-on turning workshop led by Brian, participants work in small groups to learn the safe and proper use of the lathe. Step by step, you’ll practice fundamental machining techniques — from clamping the workpiece to precisely removing material. This workshop also serves as the official machine safety training: After successful completion, participants are authorized to operate the lathe independently in the WorkINGLab.
Folke’s woodturning workshops are open to both beginners and advanced participants. In the introductory session, you’ll learn how to use the lathe and create the handle of a bottle opener. The advanced workshops take on more complex projects, such as crafting a pepper mill or a simple wooden bowl — a great way to refine your skills and explore new techniques.
In Tom’s workshop, you’ll get an introduction to 3D design using Fusion 360. As TUHH students, you can use Autodesk’s software free of charge — which is why we use it in this session.
Through a series of small design tasks, you’ll explore the program’s key features and tools. With guidance and support, you’ll gradually learn to model your own parts step by step.
Our bicycle repair workshop is open to both avid cyclists and casual riders. Whether you want to get your bike ready for winter or back in shape for spring, this is the right place for you.
From fixing a flat tire to tackling more complex issues, you can bring your bike and repair it yourself with guidance and support. Please let us know in advance what needs to be done on your bike so we can advise you early on about any required spare parts.
In our soldering workshops, you’ll learn how to safely handle a soldering iron while creating your own electronic project. The English session focuses on assembling a small synthesizer circuit board that produces sounds through a speaker. The workshop is organized from Luka in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch TUHH. Join our festive soldering special and build your own glowing mini Christmas tree! Under the guidance of Lucas and the IEEE team, you’ll learn the basics of soldering while assembling a decorative LED tree circuit that lights up in different colors. perfect for the holiday season.
In this workshop led by Leonid and Luca, you’ll design and build your own key rack! First, you’ll personalize an existing design using Inkscape, then cut it from plywood with the laser cutter.
In the second part of the workshop, you’ll assemble your piece and learn how to use the drill press safely and properly. While drilling the mounting holes, you’ll practice precision work and discover what’s most important when operating a drill press.
In this workshop, we’ll explore the basic functions of the xTool M1 Ultra laser cutter and apply them by creating a picture frame, which you can customize in different styles. You’re also welcome to bring your own design ideas.
