Daycare centres in Hamburg-Harburg are diverse: children from a wide variety of countries and cultures spend their days here together, playing, learning and becoming friends.
Some children have grown up speaking German, but many are multilingual and only learn German at daycare. This is because over 50% of the population in Harburg has a migrant background.
Children are very different: some are brave, talkative and not shy about expressing themselves. Others are more reserved and less confident about expressing their opinions in large groups.
How can we encourage these children to raise their voices?
And what happens when children do not feel comfortable – for example, because they do not yet have a sufficient command of the German language and therefore have difficulties communicating with other children and educators?
How can we support these children in their everyday life at the nursery to get involved and communicate?

"Little Voices" creates a platform for participation and involvement, so that even kindergarten children understand: Your voice is important and counts!
