Course selection at the TUHH

If you are an exchange student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the TUHH, you must select courses for your Learning Agreement (LA). You can make your own individual course selection according to the requirements of your home university or study according to the predefined ‘Study Packages’.

Study Packages

To make it easier for you to start your studies, we offer you predefined study packages based on Master's degree programmes (Dean's Office Mechanical Engineering), which you can follow unchanged or adapt as you wish.

The description of the study packages can be found here.

This selection can be helpful, especially if you have to achieve a certain number of ECTS credits. There is one study package for the winter semester and one for the summer semester for each Master's degree programme (Dean's Office Mechanical Engineering).

Customised course selection

If you put together an individual course selection when preparing your Learning Agreement without taking the subjects suggested in the Study Packages, you must observe the following notes and restrictions:

  • Check whether there is a limited course capacity (here, for example, you will find an overview of the capacity-limited courses of the Dean's Office Management Sciences and Technology (W))
  • Check the language requirements.
  • Check whether the courses are part of a module. A course that is part of a module could have its own exam or be part of an overall module exam.

You must inform yourself about your potential course choice in the following order before you create or adapt your course choice and thus the Learning Agreement: Reviewing the course overviews listed below--> Searching for information on the lecturer's website (if necessary)-->Contacting the lecturer directly (if necessary)

Dates & deadlines

In Germany, the calendar for students differs from most other countries. Here you will find the dates relevant to you. Please note that examinations usually take place after the lecture period. The examination period may last until the start of the next lecture period, depending on the courses you have chosen.
