🌱 The challenge in the project GreenMES:
Wear on compressor blades increases fuel consumption and emissions. Until now, repairs have required the time-consuming disassembly of the entire engine.
🛠️ Our solution: On-wing repair!
To change this, the IFPT is researching a minimally invasive repair process. Specially shaped end effectors will make it possible in the future to work on the blades directly while they are installed deep inside the engine, conserving resources.
